I would check out http://www.naturacabana.com
This is a nice Inn, that will give you some great luxuries, but still allow you're vacation to be simple, and you'll be able to experience culture. It's located right in between the towns of Sosua and Cabarete (about 8 minutes to each), and it's about 15 minutes from the airport in Puerto Plata.
I personally like Cabarete, I live in the area, and it's really laid back. I think Sosua attracts more older people, and men. Although their beach is nice.
That's why I reccomend this hotel, it's close to both towns so you'll be able to explore a bit more, it offers a great beach, and they are also able to plan excursions for you.

The Marriot Hotel. That hotel gives you points which makes your price next time you stay in a hotel cheaper. They always have a pool indoor and outdoor (i believe) For the goody bags, maybe a pencil and a buncha candy!
Hope I helped!
Good Luck!

The Renaissance by all means (I've been to Amsterdam, and I am a hotel manager of 8 years ). The location is beautiful and close to stuff thats historic, and entertainment – the redlight district, the hard rock, lots of tours n stuff.

Simple, normal expected things would impress me… not the fresh flowers, fruit, wine , cheese and sweets you find in luxury places. A desk clerk that is neat, professionally dressed, and greets you with a smile and perhaps offers you a mini map of the city if you are a new visitor. I am impressed with a desk clerk who greets me by name. I am always impressed with a desk clerk who explains where my room is and even draws a rough map instead of giving me a key and letting me fend for myself. I am impressed by a desk clerk who takes the time to answer my questions whether they are about a nearby restaurant or something similar. Although I am able to carry my bags, it is always nice to have someone offer to do that if I need help. I am impressed with neat and clean hallways and common areas. I am impressed with a spotless, quiet room that does not smell of smoke. In the room, it is always good to have a map of the area, a list of all the nearby restaurants and scenic attractions with their addresses and hours. If the room has a little coffee maker, a tiny ice box and a microwave and even an iron and ironing board, I am thrilled, but obviously these are expensive items to put in every room. Although little shampoos and lotions are nice, they are not a necessity. A spotless bathroom and bedroom are. Sometimes, it is great to go into the hotel common area and relax over free cup of coffee or tea in the morning. Having a desk clerk ask me when I come down the next morning or I am going out that night whether my room was OK and if there was anything more I needed pampers me a lot and is appreciated. In all, the desk clerk to a great extent, determines whether or not I am impressed with the hotel. Have stayed in some simple hotels and have been pleased and have stayed in some plus hotels and have not wanted to return. A new hotel patron can come back time after time or recommend the hotel to others if it is a pleasant place to stay. My comments would be to make my stay similar to that of a special friend of yours staying for a day or two, not a stranger who is handed a key and someone at the front desk points him toward his room all the time chatting on the phone with a friend.

If you booked through almost any travel website except the hotels website you are out of luck. Expedia, Priceline, orbit, etc. all of the travel websites are like a travel agent. You pay them, they pay the hotel. You could try to call them but I'm sure they will tell you no based on the fact it is non-refundable. When you book through any of these companies you will get a standard room type which means anything that is leftover. No preference on smoking or non or how many beds. Always try to stay away from these methods of booking rooms because you may get a better rate but you might not get what you expected.

They have a reason for not releasing this information..maybe because they don't want to be bothered..you should try getting the auto's after a game at the stadium

very discretly. i would first inform my employees so that they will not be alarmed and everyone is calm. then call the proper authorities to remove the body, without upsetting the guests. the main thing, i think, is to keep everyone and everything in order.

Not sure of the prices since they vary so much, but here's some historic hotel options.
Liberty Hotel — used to be a jail, just opened.
Parker House — home of the Saturday Club (Longfellow and Thoreau), invented Parker House rolls and Boston Cream Pie. On the Freedom Trail and right in the middle of everything.
Langham Hotel — great NC Wyeth murals, used to be the Federal Reserve Bank.
Jurys Boston — used to be Police Headquarters
