I imagine they were able to book the hotel for the month and check out early with some penalty for not staying the full time.

This is a scam – for all of the following reasons.
A tourist visa means you are unable to be gainfully employed (or even seek employment) … it ALSO means you can't enter studies at a post-secondary institution (college or university).
You CANNOT change status from tourist to work OR student, either.
The only cities with hotels running 400 US a night are in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. Prices for Canadian hotels would be given in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
The initial work visa cannot be issued for longer than 365 days.
Customs and Immigration Canada (CIC) does NOT "direct you to a recommended coordinator" to obtain your tourist certificate. Your tourist visa is applied for through the local consulate/embassy for your home region, prior to entering Canada. They also do not "sign deals" to bring people into the country. THe immigration laws are the immigration laws!

Dominica is a beautiful island:
1. Just use basic common sense like you would even when in your homeland; dont go on the beach alone at night, dont count money in the open, dont walk with money in your hand in the open, dont curse the peopel plzzzzzzzzzz. Do enjoy your self and do go to the beach and explore other things and veiw the scenery.
2. Carry which ever one is better for you..if you decide to take credit cards make sure that tye are ones that are accepted in Dominica. Cash would be good though but its what you wanna take.
3. I take it that your asking if to take your passport with you at all times. I would say yes becaue Dominica is a duty free island that means that as a tourist you get things duty free but you would have to resent your passport.
4. When you ask this question you sound like you think that as you leave that your things will be stolen. That is somethng that would not happen very often my friend. The top notch hotels all around the world carry mimi safes that you can put your personal belongings in. hen i went to Miami there was a safe in the room but we didnt use it we didnt put the moey and other values in the safe but when we cam back there were still there and that was USA…but anyway i can understand you wanting to be caucious so see if the hotel caryy safes.
5. At present i am not aware that they are dire illnesses in Dominica. nothing too out of the ordinary.
Hope ths helps.

R : Bonjour !

It depends on the season, if it’s CNY, everyone is off and travelling, in some hot spots, you had better reserve a room weeks ago, or even earlier!

It happens a lot I agree and no use complaining ! Try a more reliable saloon next time. If you have a special day it might be better to get a home service then, you have more control over time. However, they usually charge double for home services.

How long it takes to apply for a visa depends on your citizenship and country you are living in. Since you did not tell there cannot be any information provided on the timeframe of that particular Polish Embassy or Consulate.
A confirmed hotel reservation is in general not a requirement to enter a Schengen country if the the carrying of sufficient funds is proven. For entering Poland these are discribed as follows:
POLAND
Amounts required for crossing borders are determined in the Ordinance of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of 29 September 2003 on the amount of means to cover expenses concerning to entry, transit, stay and departure of aliens crossing the border of the Republic of Poland and detailed rules of documentation evidencing possession of these means (Dz.U. 2003, No. 178, poz. 1748 and No. 232, poz. 2341).
Amounts indicated in the above regulation are as follows:
- PLN 100 per day of stay for persons over 16 years old, but not less then 500 PLN,
- PLN 50 per day of stay for persons under 16 years old, but not less then 300 PLN,
- PLN 20 per day of stay, but not less then 100 PLN, for persons participating in tourist trips, youth camps, sport competitions or having costs of stay in Poland covered or arriving to Poland for health treatment in a sanatorium,
- PLN 300 for persons over 16 years old, whose stay in Poland does not exceed 3 days (including transit),
- PLN 150 for persons under 16 years old, whose stay in Poland does not exceed 3 days (including transit).
Aliens must prove that they have the above means of subsistence either by producing them in cash, or by producing:
- traveler's check or credit card,
- a letter of legal guarantee from a Polish bank (confirming the existence of these means),
- a letter of guarantee from the host.
So as a holder of a 90 day visa you need to prove the availibity of funds in the amount of 9000 Zloty (2700 € / $4000)
