Staying at bed and breakfast lodging is a unique experience. Bed and Breakfast lodging provide the comfort of living at a home.

Most bed and breakfast lodgings are small and privately owned. The owner usually lives in the same home. Normally, bed and breakfast lodging will have only around 5 to 6 rooms, each one of which is uniquely decorated. Each room is designed with the aim of providing the gust with at “at-home” experience.

Service at bed and breakfast lodgings are usually much more personalized than service offered in hotels. The reason for this is that bed and breakfast lodging usually caters to very small groups of people. It is not uncommon for the owner of a bed and breakfast lodging to ask his or her guests what they will like to eat and then prepare a meal accordingly.

Warmth, coziness and good food aren’t the only benefits to staying at a bed and breakfast lodging. Often these bed and breakfast lodgings are located near hiking trails and tourist attractions. Some times, the owners of bed and breakfast lodging operate tours of hikes and tourists attractions and fill their visitors with a lot of local information.

There are a lot of bed and breakfast lodgings run by members of the gay and lesbian communities. A listing of these bed and breakfast lodgings can be found on websites dedicated to these communities as well on online forums.

Once a traveler has picked his or her bed and breakfast lodging, the next step is to make a reservation. As bed and breakfast lodgings are small and usually cater to only around 10 people, rooms are not always easily available and therefore reservations to bed and breakfast lodgings need to be made in advance.

The bed and breakfast arrangement is actually a very old one. At the turn of the 20th century, it was quite common for travelers to request permission to spend the night at a private house rather than an inn. This custom grew into the bed and breakfast industry.

Many modern bed and breakfast lodgings these days consciously seek to recall earlier days. Many of them are remodeled to provide the appearance of Victorian era homes. Rooms in these bed and breakfast lodgings are also filled with antique furniture such as high beds and other craftsman style wooden furniture.

Most bed and breakfast lodging websites provide reservation details and contact information to make this easy. In some cases you can even make the reservation on-line however in most cases you need to call to make a reservation at a bed and breakfast lodging. Travelers making reservations with bed and breakfast lodgings should also be aware of the B&Bs cancellation policy. Unlike hotels, most bed and breakfast lodgings require individuals to cancel their reservation days in advance.

1-407-WDW-Dine to make all ADRs (Advance Dining Requests). This close out, you may have to choose a less preferable time, character meals book early (you can book 180 days in advance). Since you are not staying on property, they MAY ask for a Credit card to hold the rez.

    Yes, it is a buffet.

"Supercalifragilistic Breakfast in the 1900 Park Fare restaurant at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa offers an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast buffet that features American-style cuisine and selections that change frequently.

Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter and other Wonderland friends host the festivities. All are delighted to pose for photos or sign an autograph book.

"Popp in" for some custom-made omelets and carved ham. For little ones aged 3-9 there are special selections, like light and fluffy mini pancakes or Mickey-shaped waffles.

For those with a sweet tooth, don't miss Edy's Soft Serve Ice Cream, which can be covered with spoonfuls of sugary toppings or fresh fruit.

Entertainment during the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast includes short concerts from Big Bertha, a turn-of-the-century, fancifully designed organ from France."

The Chip and Dale Breakfast is actually located in Storytellers which is in the Grand Californian Hotel. The one in the Disneyland Hotel is Goofy's Kitchen. There is also another one with Lilo and Stitch in the Paradise Pier hotel.

Goofy's Kitchen is probably the most popular one. They often do extra things that provide more interaction than the others. However, because of this it is also the loudest of all of the character breakfasts. If you are going with kids, and strictly for best interaction this is probably the one you would want.

Chip and Dale Breakfast probably has the least interaction of all of the Character Breakfasts. Not that they don't interact they do, it is just there is usually not as many characters as at the others. But the one advantage to this is that you have the option to order off of a regular menu or go to the buffet.

The Minnie and Friends advantage is that it is inside Disneyland. Surprisingly it is not as crowded as you might expect, but you still need reservations. In terms of interaction this is probably just below Goofy's Kitchen but above Chip and Dale.

rates cannot be raised after booking unless by prior agreement at time of booking. they can be lowered…

you should bring to their attention the first email where you both agreed to a price. possibly they lost it but hopefully you have retained the agreement. forward it to the b&b w/ your issue & everything should be resolved. they are w/in rights to have the deposit.

normally, these b&b's are a small business & operate differently from large hotels. sometimes, they are not very organized…good luck!!

Bed and breakfasts are not like hotels. Each one is unique and has its own charms.

Guests are usually expected to pay for their stay upon or before arrival and may be asked to leave in time before the next guest arrives so that their room can be properly prepared. This policy is not unlike any regular hotel accommodation; but the innkeeper, in fact, may have more discretion being the owner of the property. Innkeepers often have a good idea as to when the next guest is arriving and may be able to be more flexible than a hotel. This is all part of the personalized service Innkeepers can offer guests due to the property's smaller size.

Because most B&Bs are small, typically with room for only 2-12 guests, it is advisable for anyone wanting to stay at a particular B&B to make reservations reasonably well in advance of their travel date. Location and time of year play an important role in room availability. Consultation with a qualified travel agent or the innkeeper with this type of accommodation may be helpful. Many B&Bs increasingly belong to associations and have a web presence.

Be aware that prices and tariffs described in various books and paper travel guides are often obsolete by the time they are published – Online guides and directories or B&B owner websites may contain more up to date information.

Before you make a reservation, you should be sure that you'll be comfortable in the bed and breakfast you've chosen. Asking these questions can help a lot.

    Location
Is the B&B really located near the places you want to visit? Bed and breakfasts can be found in the middle of nowhere, so even if the address says "Nashville" (or any other city), it doesn't hurt to double-check. (And if you want to be in the middle of nowhere, make sure you really are!)

    Breakfast
A full, homemade breakfast is one of the things that attracts my husband and me to B&Bs. But not every inn provides a full breakfast — some offer continental fare while others only have cold cereal available for guests. If you don't want to be surprised, make sure you ask before making a reservation.

    Bedroom
Be sure that the room you're reserving has the kind of bed you want, whether that means king, queen, or two twins. And ask about the closets and drawers — some inns have rooms with no closets and very limited drawer space. As long as you know what you're getting, that's not necessarily a problem. But you want to know before you arrive.

    Bathroom
Some B&B inns, particularly in Europe, have bathrooms which are shared by more than one guest room. If this is important to you, make sure you have a private bathroom. (Most private baths are actually in your room, known as en suite, but some private baths are accessible only through a public hallway. You miay want to ask about that as well.) If bathroom lighting is especially important, you should ask about that as well.

    Allergies
If you're allergic to anything, especially food or pets, be sure to let the innkeeper know before committing to a stay. Most B&Bs will make every effort to accommodate dietary needs. Pet allergies can be more difficult to work around since the inn is often the innkeeper's home — the B&B's web site should mention it if they own pets, but be sure to ask anyway.

    Children: Yes or No
If you're planning to bring a child or children to a bed and breakfast, definitely talk to the innkeeper first. Some inns have strict no-children policies, some allow children over a certain age, and others might allow children but discourage them except in unusual circumstances. Even if an inn allows children, it's often best not to bring them out of respect for other guests.
